In our 36th year of providing choral opportunities to the greater Annapolis and surrounding areas, The Arundel Vocal Arts Society, aka, AVAS, kicked off its winter performance season with the theme of “Light and Love” on Sunday, December 8th at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 461 College Parkway, Arnold, MD 21012.  An encore performance will be presented at Galilee Lutheran Church 4652 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 on December 15th at 6:30 p.m.

AVAS will be performing a variety of choral pieces that focus on both “Light” and “Love” and provide inspiration for us to draw our lives closer to the meaning of the holiday season.  Contemporary choral works Lux Arumque by Eric Whitacre and The Hope of Loving by Jake Runestad along with interesting arrangements of traditional holiday songs by Alexander, Yarrow, Clurman and others.

On March 7, 2020 we will be performing John Rutter’s “Mass of the Children” in collaboration with the Londontown Symphony and Childrens’ Chorus of Annapolis.  Be sure to check out this Concert page soon for more information.

We will continually post rehearsal pictures and other information about our preparations for the concerts on our Facebook page at

Our rehearsals are held on Wednesdays in the Sanctuary of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 461 College Pkwy, Arnold, MD 21012 at 7:45 p.m.  If you are interested in singing with us or have questions about our upcoming concerts, please visit our Contact Us page. While choral experience is not a requirement to join, some prior musical knowledge and ability makes learning the music easier. A simple audition may be requested of you. Please bring a short, familiar piece. An accompanist will be available.
